Re: The President of peace is running for re-election!
I´m not sure if many of the people who elected him are (still) fans of him. He was seen as a chance to go into a different direction after the pretty bad bush years. He didn´t follow through on his promises and sucks just l8ike most other high politicians. You can´t do much against all the lobbyists...

Re: The Reverend Terry Jones is a murderer
Yeh, Cuda maybe you can elaborate a bit on that. Normaly your posts are pretty reasonable and i know religion is a hot topic for many people. Maybe you meant it differently to how it comes across.

Re: Well, about that winning hearts and minds thing in Astan
A government in Afghanistan can not be compared to a goverrnment in the west. It has no power outside of Kabul and has no means to prevent Al Qaida operating as they please. If they was no afghani government the situation would be very similar to what it is now, just with less bribes. The government...

Why do you think it will be India instead of Pakistan or Afghanistan?

Re: Well, about that winning hearts and minds thing in Astan
The only way to defeat/beat terrorism? Is to be better at it...than them. Wow, ok you support terrorism and want the US to be the best terrorists in the world? I have good news for you: A lot of people world wide alread think that. At least that is the impression i get by browsing numerous forums. ...

Re: Well, about that winning hearts and minds thing in Astan
Noone can really explain why we still are in Afghanistan. I think two factors may be especially important (but i´m speculating here): 1) The west doesn´t want to acknowledge it can´t win in Afghanistan because a defeat makes him look weak and vulnerable. Other "failed states" actors might ...

Re: Well, about that winning hearts and minds thing in Astan
Nuf, I am well established, on the record, saying the "media" does not belong on the "battlefield". For, the very reasons that you mention. The "hearts and mind" statement is pure political bullshit. You know it, I know it and everybody with any common sense knows it.....

Re: Well, about that winning hearts and minds thing in Astan
When we start comparing us to terrorist we set the mark really low. We in the west should never compromise our ethics and sink to the level of the most extremes of our enemies to justify our crimes. When we become like them we have truelly lost. And where is the worldwide outrage for the otherside :...
