Rudel is WAY to controversial. I doubt
anyone will touch him in the next hundred years.
An ardent NAZI they are still and may always be, too hot to touch.

Just undermine the nazi-aspect with homosexual alludes... should do the trick.

Somehow I think there might be an interesting aspect in potraying, how his single-minded devotion to performance and nazism brought results we know.
(I also think that he would have made an excellent extremist in the name of any -ism)
