speaking of thinning the herd, I just deleted the irrelevant crap. Back to the topic of the Automation Revolution.

this is a first step towards automation of GROCERY STORES. How many jobs go away there? Of course, they will cater to the wealthy 10% but as I've been saying, those are the people with all the money anyway.

You have no idea how much I hate those do-it-yourself checkout lanes that are cropping up in stores all over the place. I fucking hate them!
I don't care how long the lineup is ... I want a living breathing human being ringing up my purchases!

After all good Marxists must insure that
obsolete ideas remain in practice for the good of
the Proletariat.

Robotics is the future, 3D printing and other robotic
forms of manufacturing will replace a lot of people.

I also dislike the self checkouts.

But we are stuck with them, for now.

Coming soon, no check outs. In the near future
you will get scanned and debited as you exit a store.

But then again stores are becoming obsolete.
Exception being food stores.

how are you with punching your order into your phone, paying electronically, and just picking the groceries up, sorted and bagged, at a local pickup center. Or, maybe simply delivered to your door? That, my friend, is where Amazon has been aiming for about 5 years.

do you have examples, or even a real point?
Robotics is the future, 3D printing and other robotic
forms of manufacturing will replace a lot of people.
yup, a lot. That is sort of my point in the thread. We all know that much, now, how does a society deal with a functional 60% unemployment?
But then again stores are becoming obsolete.

If you were an Amazon investor you'd know that exception is history within 3 to 5 years.

Sure, you are whining about the future being bleak for the workers paradise.

Automation has put people out of work.

People have retired, retired or just given up, like
being on Democare (welfare).

Automation in a recognizable form has been around for hundreds of years.

I also have read Marx, dull but fascinating read.

You paraphrase him at nearly the same rate that Osama Obama did.

you have to stretch it a good darn ways to show us how automation was extant in, say, 1770. The population, in case you hadn't noticed is still growing, and you've absorbed the first, baby-step stage of the transition. The tidal wave is about 5 years off, according to experts.

please utilize your reading skills and point out where.
