Looking at getting a rig to play CLoD....

Suggestions on specs, that won't break the budget?

Also, are there difficulty/realism setting with it like in older IL2 games??

Building firearms, armored cars, and an engine has gotten me itching to fly in a chair again...

For cryin out loud I painted the radiator fan like a propeller.

Good luck with CLOD mate... don't want to bash that game but I was kinda disappointed with it after week or two of playing.
Speaks volumes since I'm quite freak for WW2 airwar... in comparison I still am playing ROF (Rise of Flight) which is all around great sim.
Not saying that CLOD isn't maybe you will really love it but I cannot get past retarded CLOD AI... if they make them smarter I reckon it would be a great game.

I'm not set on CLoD...

I'm def. going to replay '46 for a bit, just because of the campaigns that I avoided the last time I played.

Is the AI in CLoD as bad as '46?

Haha I wish they were "as bad as in 46"... in comparison 46 AI seems like a fucking Einsteins compared to the lobotomised CLOD AI.
Seriously it is a sorry sight... for instance they don't react to your commands. At least I haven't spotted any sign of reaction to any of my commands.
Once I attacked 6 enemy Me-109Es in lone Hurricane (other AI buddies just flew away home in spite of me telling them, ordering them to attack from superior position)... Me-109s were in close formation at sea level heading home to France...
I poured in on them and shot every single one of them down except one (hit him too but he made it )... those 109s never really reacted or broke formation until I already started hammering them by which time it was all over. Of course his buddies just flew in formation all that time.

46 AI is a godsend in comparison to this.

A pitty really since all other aspects of this game are really good (apart from minor stuff like unusually complicated turret manning, long story short I could use it only via keyboard)...

Perhaps I'll spend the bucks on Skyrim then, and get a rig to play it and '46, lol.

That might be the least frustrating thing to do.....skip CloD.
It seems unlikely that CLoD will be fully playable, in the next year...
Maybe, in two years....Them Russkies is funny folks...and take their own
damn sweet time....while riding on yer dime....Check out the Banana Forums fer info.

Funny thing, seems that ROF guys are also Russians or perhaps whole project is largely started by them but it seems to be cruising just fine and IMHO I don't see CLOD topping them ANY time soon. Oddly enough ROF seems to hold its own in graphics too, while certainly looking good CLOD is nothing spectacular in comparison to ROF. In fact ROF landscapes looks better which is a damn shame (CLOD is supposed to be main princess of this funny flying masquerade). :ugeek:

But one thing is certain... this is a damn expensive sport, ROF is certainly 'faster' but is also much more expensive considering you have to buy practically everything.
Flying sims are going to be very expensive in the future I guess mainly due to fact that the simming core is not that big as we may think. :|

Than you will have to try AI in 46" when new patch(4.11) comes out. AI is changed a lot , not perfect but much better than 4.10.
Quoting one of the beta testers:
Overall, it's really interesting flying with the newest AI. It's really so much more human now, and it's a complete game-changer as they say.

Really looking forward to it... as far as I'm concerned 46 is still the king of the ww2 flight sim arena. 8-)
