So I finally found my FB/AEP/PF cds, then I remembered 'oh snap I had downloaded 1946 and forgot to burn it'. Genius.

I couldn't find the effing 1946 dvd anywhere, then after looking through torrents without seeders someone had mentioned it was available on steam for 10 bucks... purchased it, download started, FFFFFFFF can't change to the freaking gaming partition.

I'm wondering if, once the download is done, is it possible to copy the whole thing to a different partition? Apparently I have to keep it in steam's folder which is in the OS' partition which I have to defrag every week.

Just copy the entire folder of 'IL-2 1946' to the other drive and enjoy!

I just changed from WinXP to Win7, and "installed" the IL2 with just copying the whole folder to the new location...

Except steam doesn't like "their" games in different folders. (I copied IL2 1946's folder to my games' partition and it would just give me this 'steam error something' crap.) So I had to uninstall steam, which also delete the entire game, reinstalled it and right now I'm downloading it all over again. 5-freaking-GB.

Also, there's this il2set.exe which I believe was meant to be il2setup.exe but all the fucking .exe's downloaded from steam actually start the game. What the fuck...

Maybe using non-steam .exe will help? I uploaded the .exes to rapidshare, links's below.

If missed something, just let me know!

I got all sorts of glitches with those, so I reverted to steam's ones. Anyways, at least I can play again. :) Gotta find my skins and I'm set.
