true, Goya.......but, what Tolwyn says is to some extent true. In many states, the extremely poor do receive free services at hospitals. However, even that is not a given in many other states. My point remains, that we can(as a nation) aspire to do much better by all the people. To cite a bunch of claptrap inferring that the Founding Fathers would have disapproved is nonsense. I think it is just a likely a guess that they would be appalled by the head-in-the-sand attitude that arises in the nation over this issue.

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: obama.
Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

It's offset by our devalued dollar that we're going to pay higher taxes for.

that dollar's value can, and will, be tinkered with. How does the dollar value translate into higher taxation??

Now, in my mind, what should be done with that bill is to up the amount of subsidies to the middle class,
put teeth into penalties for failure to carry insurance and mandate(probably best done through a public
option)a wholesale change of medical reimbursement from the current Fee for Service, to a Fee for Outcome
system. It probably won't happen, because the folks who get rich off this status quo will confuse enough of the electorate that the Congress won't have the political will(or stones) to get it done.

It's not the government's job to make healthcare affordable for all.
It wasn't the government's job to introduce wellfare, social security, or any of that bullshit.

THE necessity of a Constitution, at least equally energetic with the one proposed, to the preservation of the Union, is the point at the examination of which we are now arrived.

This inquiry will naturally divide itself into three branches the objects to be provided for by the federal government, the quantity of power necessary to the accomplishment of those objects, the persons upon whom that power ought to operate. Its distribution and organization will more properly claim our attention under the succeeding head

The principal purposes to be answered by union are these,

the common defense of the members;

the preservation of the public peace as well against internal convulsions as external attacks;

the regulation of commerce with other nations and between the States;

the superintendence of our intercourse, political and commercial, with foreign countries.

healthcare comes, rather directly, under "Regulation of Commerce", actually. What is your plan for the
nation, Tolwyn? Sit idly by and watch the destruction of the health, and living standards of 99% of the
population, while the remaining 1% prosper? Because, that is the path we are heading down.
