wow, I've been in organizations that go back decades and nobody sells the membership cute little coins. To each their own. I'll keep a sense of humor, you all can enjoy the coins. What do you all do with them, out of curiousity? Is there some sort of little folder to collect the whole set, like the State Quarters? Are they legal tender someplace? Hoard them as a valuable commodity after Obama tanks the economy like Dawg claimed would happen 6 years ago? What's the deal?

Read all about it- and then you'll know why I put it in this thread..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin

in short..
The challenge, which can be made at any time, begins with the challenger drawing his/her coin, and slapping or placing the coin on the table or bar. In noisy environments, continuously rapping the challenge coin on a surface may initiate the challenge. (Accidentally dropping a challenge coin is considered to be a deliberate challenge to all present.) Everyone being challenged must immediately produce the coin for their organization and anyone failing to do so must buy a round of drinks for the challenger and everyone else who has their challenge coin. However, should everyone challenged be able to produce their coin, the challenger must buy a round of drinks for the group

I only wish I could still hit a good drinking game like back in college.

frankly, just more pseudo-military pretentious BS from a bunch of guys, most of whom served in peacetime and whose primary danger was seen in gin-mills. It's one thing for a combat military regiment to issue such coins, but a decade old Interweb forum? Meh.

And, no, if any of y'all were wondering, I haven't really mellowed that much since I retired a couple years back. ;)

Hey Slick, don't diss "the coin". It's kind of a big deal over there.

come to Virginia or Delaware and drinks are on me. Lots of them. No coin displays needed. A PM 48 hours in advance would be helpful, though.
