Somebody was claiming on the 1C "Yellow" forum, that his problems with excessive stuttering disappeared with verifying DX-installatio and the .NET too.
I just installed the first time after the final patch was out, so maybe that was the key to my success?

That got me to thinking Juha

I think yer on to something good.
I just now remembered...when I did the processor swap, 4 core to 8 core,
I had to make changes to my Bios, which did/could affect my CloD setup.
Worse than that, I forgot, that I updated my Video Card drivers to the latest version.

Those may be the reasons it was stuttering worse than a poodle passing a peach seed.

Thanx for pointing that out..indirectly, but it did get me to thinking. :)

I do believe a full re-install and re-config is in order.
Thanx

Well...I got a solid stable O'c at 4.6ghz on my 8350, which was the minimum that, I wanted...That oughta be enough to give CloD a "fair shake", I think?

Later on...I'm gonna try for 4.8 :)

Should be plenty!

My i5 uses about 70% of CPU when playing clod, and this is with 3.8 or 3.6 GHz, which ever the stock clock is. So you should be ok with your CPU!

Thanx Juha that better explains some thoughts I had about my old four core AMD 955 at 3.6ghz. A 70% load on an I5 is pretty significant. Though, back then,on my 955, I thought it should of been able to handle it. Maybe not?

Any who...the other forums here have dried up a bit. So, now, my priority is re-installing CloD. I'm off to do it now. :)

:D I'll be damned... ;)
Reinstalled, Verified, Video Settings at Medium, No Epi-filter.....
Smooth as butter....No stutters or micro pauses...none.

Now, I gotta go back and begin setting up/mapping my controls... :(
That's gonna take a bit of time.

It didn't look bad at all, smooth, on medium settings.
Much thanks for the advice and support Juha... :)

I'm so rusty...anybody flying behind me....is gonna think they are in a cloud.

Settings on "Very High"....not so good.

Still working on config and controls.

Next thing you'd like to do (I know you would) is to drop the SweetFX into the installation folder.

It does really make the Clod look clear and crispy.

(and with right settings, the dots are easier to see. I'm still trying to find the right tweaks ;)

I've heard about SweetFX, though, I don't know anything about it.
I did see something over at 1C on it.

I'll go there and read about it.

I would be interested in knowing "how to tweak it".

Back to mapping my controls... :?
Which ranks right up there with getting a "colonoscopy"...

Tried quickly the Bf109E4N-model, and she flies just fine, even with half of the right wing gone...
Blue or not, but I think the modders should have a look into the FM, it feels a bit too forgiving!
