So i dont watch a lot of baseball

Post by fatman »

I use to watch a bit back as a kid way back when USS Ranger was in service and the US navy still allowed tours of their ships when in port, any way im watching the third test today between Aus and WI and got to thinking why do bowlers suck so much at batting sure they might not put as much time in batting practice in the nets but you would think they would anticipate the ball better than a batsman, so im wondering how to pitchers hold up when its their turn to bat? Do they hold their own or do they mostly strike out?

by the professional level, they tend to suck at batting. I'm not sure why, as pitchers at the schoolboy level tend to be the better players, overall, on a team. Now, in half of our major leagues, pitchers don't even get to bat(designated hitter rule), but generally, any time a pitcher in the majors gets on base, it's a major coup.
