A New Member To My family

Post by Buzz »

I saved a little 7 week old pit bull from the shelter today. They have to keep her another month so they can spay her.

She's all black and I named her Pepper. She looks like she'll be a stocky girl.

...don't freak me out, Buzz. :P

on the other hand, rescue dogs are the best kind, IMHO. And the act of rescue is an act of kindness that should be done far more frequently. It's vastly superior to buying from breeders, which merely encourages more overbreeding and overpopulaton of dogs, when so many are in need of a good home.

Ain't nothing wrong with Pit Bulls. Too bad the same can't be said for the owners that make them get out of control.

Chows and Akitas bother me a LOT worse than any pit I've been around.

I rescued a pretty little female pit off the highway a month a so back. She had a collar but no tags, near as I could tell almost a year old. Not a mean bone in her. Friend of mine was looking for a dog so I called him and he came and got her. She's doing fine and hasn't offered to eat his cat yet.

You haven't known me that long Willie, so you don't know. I love pit bulls and Pepper will be my 10th one. I've never had a problem with any of them.

Pepper will love running around the Rockies chasing squirrels.

btw..Is it Willie or Wullie?

Actually it's Willie.

I used to drink with a couple of crazy Scottish bastards and when they pronounced WILLIE it always came out WULLIE.

Not too many WULLIE "usernames" out there but there is a shit load of WILLIE names.

I hear ya on Pits.

Aussie cattle dogs are my favorites. Sheddin bastards they are. Lost my old buddy five years ago after 15 years. Wife talked me into adopting a Corgi. He sheds just as bad. He's funny and smart but he ain't no heeler.

Don't have room here for a heeler to grow and play so it wouldn't be right to try for another right now.

I still after 5 years feel for my old dog with my feet when I get out of bed at night. He used to sleep RIGHT where I stepped when I got up.

I miss that old son of a bitch.

I was playing with a heeler today at the shelter. I couldn't wear her out throwing a ball.

Yes, I still miss my last pit. His name was Buddy, and I had him 10 years. Cancer got him.
