you guys hear about the LA freeways, or Italian streets, but in Ontario, we really, really, do shitty drivers the best

of the 400 series, the 401 skirts the north side of Toronto, running east-west
by volume, it is THE busiest in north america...and in the greater toronto area, about 50% of the population is immigrant...so we get the very best of the chinese, russian, hispanic, what-have-you drivers

I was out on the left coast EVERY other Monday morning for three years straight between '77 and '80. I'd start kicking off freight (dry groceries actually it was RANCH STYLE BEANS) in the LA area and final out up around the gay bay. Re-load somewhere around the bay and be back in TX on Friday. I did not enjoy Kali.

That was the last fucking job I ever had hauling groceries too. That shit sucks the large one. Then I hauled cattle for 5 years. THAT was fun as the boss LOVED large cars and two stick trannies and he bought all the road dope. My nose flamed out in '85 and started pulling tanks so I could sleep on regular basis.

The ONLY thing that I liked about driving out there was the YIELD TO A TURN SIGNAL law. Let it blink three times and move over. Put more than one fuck tard out in the ditch with that trick.

If I never see Kali again it will be too damn soon. Ditto for upstate New Yawk and all it's asshole trucker types as well.

If you want to see total insanity. Be in San Antonio or Houston when an ice storm hits. Watch all the bad ass "vato" Meheecanos crash and burn.

Truck talk.

I started running line. I hauled produce for LA to NY city, and then haul freight back west to almost anywhere. I hated it. Then I had an easy run from LA to Dallas. I made two trips a week. It was ok, but I still hated to be on the road so much.

So, I said screw the road and got a job driving tankers in the LA area. I hated that too, because I was on call 24 hrs a day. I never knew when I was going out.

I said screw that too, and got a job driving an end dump. I liked that a lot. I drove a couple of years and bought my own truck. That was good, and I was making a lot of contacts and decided to buy another truck. The in time two more trucks. Then a loader (973 CAT) and started to do my own jobs and hire more trucks when I needed them. Most of the time I just used my own trucks them. When I thought I had enough money to retire I sold the whole thing in 99.

Now i'm living in a cabin in the mountains.

I'm a weird one alright. Most guys would have moved to Hawaii.
