Cavuto to ‘Guilty’ Millionaires: Write a Check to Uncle Sam Now!
A petition signed by 45 “patriotic” millionaires has been delivered to President Barack Obama and congressional leaders, encouraging them to allow the Bush-era tax cuts to expire at the close of 2010. But during his “Your World” broadcast Monday afternoon, Fox News‘ Neil Cavuto dedicated a full segment of his program to address the millionaires’ “guilty” feelings.
“Why write a letter when you could all just write a check?” Cavuto asked, suggesting if they felt the need to contribute more, they were more than welcome to. “Why wait for your answer, guys? Pay more now!”
Among the most widely recognized names on the list are billionaire Warren Buffet, DJ/musician MOBY and Jerry Cohen, the “Jerry” of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. Though he admits Buffett is a good friend and a great businessman, Cavuto says Buffett is wrong when it comes to raising taxes.
Cavuto urged the group to consider the many small business owners who would be significantly burdened by any increase in their taxes, especially during a struggling economic recovery. “For goodness sake, quit speaking for all those 2 percenters right now, especially the ones nowhere near what any of you are making now,” he said.
In the group’s 155-word letter, the “Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength” say they hope their taxes will increase on the first of January:
We make this request as loyal citizens who now or in the past earned an income of $1,000,000 per year or more.
During an interview on ABC’s This Week, Buffett told host Christiane Amanpour that “people on the high end, people like myself, should be paying a lot more taxes. We have it better than we’ve ever had it,” he said

Good Old Warren Buffet....he and his are "rolling" in it during these difficult times...and you ain't. Mighty nice of him to keep the economy screwed up, so he and his can pay a little more....and so can you.... Yup, busting that $250.000.00 mark is gonna be a real beast for some of you poor stupid bastards....Seems to me to be blatant immigration reform taking place in the "Millionaires Club".

I told Slick the same thing. He has no problem paying high taxes, pay mine as well. It fell on retarded ears just like Cavuto's statement.

we swing to the right, then we swing to the left, then we swing a little bit further to the right, then we swing a little bit further to the left...
as far left as we swung in a such a short time, I am genuinely concerned how far right we swing next election.
what these (both left wing libtards and right wing godsmacks) DONT realize is when your oh so loved leader lets a law pass..it DONT expire next term. Allowing a continuing decay of Constitutional rights to go on, and on, and on....
we need to pay taxes. fact
why does the flat tax keep getting a boomheadshot? ..oh..right

good question. I suspect the answer lies in two places:
1. Far too few people feel that taxation is fair if they have to pay anything.
2. The people who benefitted nicely from the Bush Giveaway plan sort of like a complex tax system....
That said, I think a flat tax with a reasonable exemption level(say $25,000) is perfectly fair.

He has the same kind of mentality that the rest of the left has, pick and choose what you like cuz the rest doesn't matter. Sad thing is that freedom of speech doesn't exist without right to bear arms. Period, end of story.Dawg wrote: theres this nasty thing in there that mentions taxation...
