......so, you are for, or are against taxing the rich? Its difficult to tell if I actually pay attention to your posts.
Cant have it both ways
the rich should pay taxes and at a slightly higher rate than those further down the scale. It's the position I've always had. What I've consistently opposed is the Bush tax cuts(on here since I arrived), as they are a blatant giveaway to those with inherited wealth.
theres this nasty thing in there that mentions taxation...
cite the line(s) you refer to.

This may be too simple for you to understand? With a flat tax of 15%? The fellow making 100,000.00 would pay 15 thousand and the millionaire making a million bucks a year would pay 150,000.00....
So, duh, the "rich" would be paying more....and they should, however, on the same percentage basis......Keep it simple Slick (KISS)...

apparently you are too simple, as I clearly stated that I prefer an exemption for the first 25K in income.
Thus, there is a bit of disparity, but not much, between the poor and wealthy. I see CUDA's point, but disagree. Those making under 25K pay SS withholding tax and other government levies, they can be spared the flat income tax, IMHO.

well, lad, everything I've ever read on it, from when it was first put forth by Forbes quite a few years back, indicates that the Flat Tax would merely replace Federal Income tax, thus SS and other fees which the government witholds or charges would remain. That you don't think this to be the case probably shows that you came late to the show and missed the introduction. Study up, boy.

There's more than one school of thought on the flat tax, son. And if you tax everyone at an equal rate why would you add SS and other such bullshit? Because the gubmint would want more money from the people than it's getting now.
