but, how do you explain how he managed to defeat the Clinton organization and a half-dozen other Dems in the primaries? How do you explain his rise to prominence to even consider running for President?
John boy wouldn't have had the showing he did if it weren't for Sarah.
your opinion, of course, but it varies wildly from most GOP analysts I know. They feel that Palin ended up costing him a couple percentage points, in the end. I can find you a boatload of elderly Republicans that voted for Obama or didn't vote at all, once Palin was nominated.

callmeslick wrote:what is interesting, so far, about this thread is that Pud seems to be the only person who actually read the linked op-ed. It was a pretty insightful look at the societal changes in America that got us to the divisive politics of the present. Anyone else actually read it? Dawg's out-of-hand dismissal of the author is a prime illustration of a closed mind which Brooks addresses.

I read it.

Classic slick, someone disagrees with your self perceived brilliance and obviously they dont understand, didn't read, or are closed minded.

I'm all too familiar with his work, the quote I used said it brilliantly.
As I'm equally familiar with your m.o.
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: obama.
Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Wasn't this thread originally about civility?
How do you explain his rise to prominence to even consider running for President?
Three words; GEORGE FUCKING SOROS

Dawg makes a valid point. You started it and now you're off on tangents or completely off the road and out in the pasture.

one word: NONSENSE. Hell, Soros is tight with the Clintons, just for starters.

I'm merely asking about opinions about an article, and beyond Pud, no one cited anything in the article.
It would seem that it isn't me who is off the path, but your mileage may vary.

I read the article. Just went back and re-read it. Civility is mentioned by the author several times.

Slick, you will never change my mind on what got Barry elected, nor the fact that his calling for "civility" is nothing more than a ruse.

Would you like a FUCKING QUOTE? Strictly in the interest of civility in discourse, you understand. ;)
