Nothing like requiring a million dollar education from someone,
paying them peanuts and doubling their work load and then
professing ignorance as to why they might have a negative
reaction to it? It gets better..."then putting the blame on them"..
However, the good news? You can still sue them......

Re: How Doctors feel about Obamacare
You know WHY Doctors don't like this plan? Because it drives down costs. One of the key cost drivers is excessive doctor visits and excessive specialist work(ie-unnecessary testing and surgery). I just heard a report about one of the small-scale test studies(funded by the Healthcare act, by the way) in Atlantic City, New Jersey. They have, to date(and this started before the bill, with outside funding by state of NJ, and others), lowered healthcare costs by nearly 20%, with a small(but apparently statistically significant) rise in positive outcomes. Who doesn't like that...better health at lower cost? Apparently, specialists, notable among them cardiologists and neurologists, who have seen patient visits plummet among the test group.
Hmmmm. Maybe a world with less specialists, more primary care physicians and lower overall costs is achievable. If only folks would open their eyes and minds to the possibilities.

Apparently, you did not read this Slick.....
You think Doc's like to order all of those "unnecessary" tests?
They have to...."Civil Suits".
When, States cap the "profit" in the medical industry and civil suits, things will get
a whole lot more affordable. Ten percent is considered to be a reasonable profit in
the business world. Ten more percent for "overhead" the same.
Do that for a start and watch the costs plummet.
Cuz, what you posted below it just validates it....Pudfark wrote:I posted something similar to that a couple of months ago....

nonsense. Most of the testing is a profit center. I have some personal experience. The wife had back problems for several years. Part of the treatment routine involved a mandatory visit to a neurologist every 6 months. The fool passed through the room briefly and charged the insurance $600 to do so. Further, he ordered certain in-house testing that yielded him thousands, with utterly no useful purpose. Lawsuits didn't enter into it.Pudfark wrote:Cuz, what you posted below it just validates it....

the trick is capping the profit(also, take a look at pharmaceuticals that routinely make a 25% profit margin,When, States cap the "profit" in the medical industry and civil suits, things will get
a whole lot more affordable. Ten percent is considered to be a reasonable profit in
the business world. Ten more percent for "overhead" the same.
AFTER research and development costs), while improving or at least not hurting the medical outcome. Bottom line is that the most important thing to most Americans is maintaining a high level of care and successful treatment.
which is precisely what the Healthcare bill will do after a few years. They are trying different approaches to the administration of healthcare to sizeable populations and studying outcomes. This really hasn't been done much to date. If folks are patient, you will see a sizeable reduction in costs per outcome within a decade.Do that for a start and watch the costs plummet.

Re: How Doctors feel about Obamacare
well, yes and no. About half our doctors came from overseas schools, as the current setup we have requires far too many specialist doctors. I addressed that one above.Pudfark wrote:I posted something similar to that a couple of months ago....

if you think MD's are paid peanuts, you clearly never read your invoices. Especially specialists.paying them peanuts and doubling their work load

Why didn't you or your wife refuse it? It's your money.
I have had the unfortunate occasions to visit a lot of Doc's over the last dozen years...I have had a few of the "silly" ones tell me..."Don't worry about it, your insurance will pay for it"....Then, they got a full Pudfark ear full and that settled that. It seems to me that most folks forget that the Doctor works for them. Always be civil, always tell them that, if need be.

"the trick is capping the profit(also, take a look at pharmaceuticals that routinely make a 25% profit margin"
The solution to this is pass new laws, then enforce them.

"which is precisely what the Healthcare bill will do after a few years."
I know that the Healthcare bill will not do that. It adds costs to health care. The first major cost it adds is another level of administration. By the way, why? does the Healthcare bill have so many taxes and fees hidden within it. Why wait a couple of years?

Re: How Doctors feel about Obamacare
like most patients, she did what the doctor asked her to do. It was only after 6 years with little effectiveness did she dump him. Oh, and I have good insurance, so it cost me very little. As you point out, that is how most people deal with the matter, not thinking of the cost of the insurance to whomever is paying the premiums.Pudfark wrote:Why didn't you or your wife refuse it? because studies and resulting changes in national guidelines take time. If you don't spend the time analyzing, you won't find the best solutions. As for the tax changes, some of that was to offset costs, because, unlike most tea party types, the administration tried to keep their legislation deficit neutral. I'm not sure about the whole "another level of administration" bit. Sure, there probably will be some folks analyzing data, and enforcing regs, but overall, all unbiased analysis says the bill saves money.I know that the Healthcare bill will not do that. It adds costs to health care. The first major cost it adds is another level of administration. By the way, why? does the Healthcare bill have so many taxes and fees hidden within it. because(and you'd have to have heard the old bit by the late George Carlin to get this one), you really only needed 2 commandments or so, the others are redundant.Old Pudfark sez: " Thank God, the folks who wrote the Healthcare bill, weren't tasked with writing the Ten Commandments.... "

Slick, you really dont know much.
Its exhausting reading your nonsense. Its so much quicker to see the "you cant read dipshits posts, he's on your ignore list", than to scroll past what you claim as rebuttal.
