well, we've had a nice discussion about my Rand Paul observations, but still, no one weighed in over the Middle East. It would seem that the entire region is on the verge of wholesale revolution. First Tunisia, now Egypt and Yemen. Seriously, doesn't any think that the UAE and Saudi Arabia(along with Jordan, maybe Lebanon and Syria) won't be far behind? Right now, everyone I read in the press is yelling, "democracy, fuck yeah!", but not considering the endpoint. What happens when the inevitable democratization leads to power for the largest organized group, Islamists? And, starting with Egypt(who controls quite a bit of the shipping lanes) what does this say about oil supplies to the Western world?

Most Americans are not aware how much of their tax revenue our government sends to Israel. For the fiscal year ending in September 30, 1997, the U.S. has given Israel $6.72 billion: $6.194 billion falls under Israel's foreign aid allotment and $526 million comes from agencies such as the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Information Agency and the Pentagon. The $6.72 billion figure does not include loan guarantees and annual compound interest totalling $3.122 billion the U.S. pays on money borrowed to give to Israel. It does not include the cost to U.S. taxpayers of IRS tax exemptions that donors can claim when they donate money to Israeli charities. (Donors claim approximately $1 billion in Federal tax deductions annually. This ultimately costs other U.S. tax payers $280 million to $390 million.)

And that does not include the rest of the middle east how many jobs is this worth if invested locally, and the only upside to the israel aid is that military aid must be spent back in the US take the F-35's that israel will be getting they will be all paid for by Uncle Sam so i guess that works jpbns wise but it could be another squadrin or two for you guys

perhaps if you were fortunate enough to meet and speak, at some length, to the lead test pilot on the F-35 programme, and another separate, future operator of it who has access to data on it that you wouldn't normally be privvy to, as I have, instead of taking the propaganda/salesmens marketing squeezins' as gospel, you wouldn't say such stupid things
