What Slick wants is cradle-to-grave Medicare, and those that want more coverage pay for it out of their own monies.

nah, Pud, I just want to see the US business sector operate on a level playing field with foreign nations, and for every citizen to be able to go through life without worrying about going broke over basic medical expenses. How radical!

Re: Judge Rules Health Care Law Is Unconstitutional
I've already got "obammacare". In my case it is from none other than the Veteran's Administration.
It is better than nothing, but not by much. It does have problems, LOADS of them as a matter of fact.
I have hearing aids. Courtesy of the taxpayers and grudgingly from the VA. The VA provides batteries, ear tubes, and ear cups. They give me a 6 month supply every time I run out.
These items don't take up much space. The VA sends them out in 3 identically sized boxes and they arrive on three different days. Batteries arrive first, then the little ear cups arrive the next day, and the following day the tubes arrive.
EVERYTHING they send will fit very nicely in one box, yet they use three boxes and pay postage three times.
At my yearly check up with the VA week before last, they determined ( again )that I have arthritis in my wrists. Doc ordered X-ray of my left hand. Got x-ray of left hand, no problem. I always have them send the test results to me. Paperwork came with report on RIGHT hand. Date showed day I was there. Description of x-ray evaluation identical to one from two years back. Called VA to ask WTF? They told me I was mistaken and they had x-rayed RIGHT hand. I told them I know left from right and they were wrong. Long pause on phone then they said they'd call me back.
They called back and told me I needed to come back to get BOTH wrists x-rayed AGAIN ( so there would be no more mistakes about which hand they x-rayed. I did.
First visit Doc asked about drug allergies. I told them sudafed and IBUPROFEN. No prob. Stop by pharmacy to get dope, ETODOLAC, never heard of it but as I'm tired of messing around there for half a day. I take dope and head home. Arrive home read warning. DO NOT TAKE IF ALLERGIC TO IBUPROFEN!
FUCK ME!
Call back, raise Hell. Told they'd call. They never called. Two days later get package in mail. Different dope. Real pain killer type shit this time, TRAMODOL. Read warning DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE BPH, DO NOT OPERATE MACHINERY ETC ETC.
FUCK ME!!
I've had BPH for years and it shows on my report. Call back bitch some more. Total waste of time but I do have two remaining re-fills of Tramodol.....
Strange part about all this is that I have NOT asked for any medicine. Aspirin takes care of most of the aggravation for the time being. Maybe Doctors get points for pushing dope. Beats Hell out of me.
Got pissed went to see the Tx Veteran Commission counselor that helped with my hearing aids. He tells me the wrists are area slam dunk for service related injury as I broke both of them on active duty. Re-opens claim that was denied two years earlier. Orders my medical records from VA and the USN.
Last year, had a cyst removed from my back by VA. In and out in an hour. 5 stitches and direction on how to take care of it. That was on a Friday. By Sunday it is oozing pus and very inflamed. Call "TELE-NURSE" system and they say report first thing Monday AM. I do, Doc looks at it says HMMMMMMMMM. Come back tomorrow and let me look at it again. It is really hurting and looking bad by this time. Monday night it blows out. BIG mess. Tuesday Doc says, got to take out stitches and open incision so it can drain. He take a culture sample and says he'll get back with me. Come back Thursday. I show up Thursday, sick, sore, and really getting fed up. It is at this time he says, yep, staph infection. Here's a prescription for sulfa drugs and have a nice day. 4 weeks later the hole in my back is closed. One year later I have divot in my back that the end of my thumb will fit into nicely.
I could go on, but maybe you can get an idea about GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE.
I wonder how much all that BS cost and what could have been saved if it had been done right the first time. I figure this is a very efficient version of what obameramma care will be if they don't scuttle that shit.

Re: Judge Rules Health Care Law Is Unconstitutional
First off, Wullie, if you want to bitch about 'government run health care', go wild. However, the plan passed last year has nothing to do with a state-run healthcare system. It's all still private: private doctors, hospitals, insurers, labs, the works.
Second, try and take Medicare away from seniors to get an idea of what they think about a plan that covers basic services. Sure, most will piss and moan that they want more coverage for free, but that's human nature. Who doesn't want more stuff for free? But, that sort of basic coverage, to my mind, ought to be a birthright of every citizen in a nation this wealthy. No one should fear for losing life's savings when a medical emergency hits them when between jobs, or working a job that offers no coverage but pays 'too much' to justify Medicaid or similar. I'm not talking about free top shelf care, but basic coverage of routine maintenence and standard emergency/acute care and chronic care. Running a lifetime Medicare plan would end up costing most citizens FAR less than they pay in premiums and would reduce to nothing the single largest unpredictable economic factor for most businesses. Now, you want that hip replacement with the aerospace-grade alloy? Pay for it. You have the urge for a facelift? Pay for it. Cutting edge ligament surgery if you have a bum shoulder? Pay for it. But, there should be no fucking excuse why any citizen of the USA should EVER have to declare bankruptcy over a heart attack, or the price of dialysis or not get preventive cardiac care because they cannot afford it. Further, no one should lose a child because they can't afford routine childhood healthcare after losing a job. It's that simple. For the life of me, I can't see why so many citizens of this ostensibly 'Christian' nation fail to embrace the concept.....I guess, talk is cheap.

It seems under the proposal that you agree with....
My neighbor should provide his shitter for my use,
when mine is full....and maybe, throw in a bag of lime
every once in awhile....

There are far better ways to provide affordable health care for the citizens of this country. This administration isn't interested in any of them because it involves putting the reins on drug companies, the health care industry and the insurance industry. The Dems prefer to let the corporations get richer and tax the citizens more. The funniest thing ever is the left loves to say the Repubs are the ones that cater to big business.
Uh huh.

those "obstensibly Christian" people like to help and do all the time. it was after all it was the Christians that started hospitals in the first place.
We just dont like the Government stealing from us to make us help. it should be done of love not of force.
