you, Pud, can be a ray of fucking sunshine at times. Hell, I thought I could get pretty bleak, but I bow to your pessimism. How, exactly, do YOU go about 'thinning the problems' for your family? I see no real issues for mine that the family shouldn't have the resources to deal with. All it takes is the foresight to get away from a shitstorm and cash the chips in when they are at top value. Now, if you are talking some sort of worldwide nuclear nightmare, hell, it could happen. To my mind, if one envisions that as anywhere near likely, the best preparation involves large quantities of alcohol and controlled substances. it's all you can do for them too. There will be no immediate restoration of infrastructure or law and there
will be no resources. No conveyances after the first month and no survivable ability to use a conveyance,
other than your feet...No potable or limited water, No food, No Health Insurance and nobody to call.
Ugly beyond most folks ability to comprehend....it will take many years to restore anything resembling infrastructure...
I hope it never happens...I know it can.
