I'm aware of your little horses. Not impressed with ponies. With all your professed abilities with all things horse, I'm thinking that Ass'o'slick might be a better name for the BIG round up of the wee horses since you delight in showing your ass.callmeslick wrote:Wullie wrote:The mutts I'm talking about might give you 10 seconds before they made East coast hash out of your old ass. I've been kicked, bitten, stepped on, and stomped by horses. Had to cut a saddle off of two of hammerheads in my life time. Horse wrecks ain't fun when the horse gets killed. One of 'em was a damn good horse. The other saved me a bullet when he broke his damn neck and not mine.
Since Beltex is out of business and can't sell horse meat to Nic, there is a surplus of that type of beast. Some have a longer fuse than others. Yes, most were fucked up by people.
You have no clue. Keep messing with your "ponies".
dude, look up Assateague and Wild Horses. I don't always deal with racehorses, although I've spent a lot of time with them. Thoroughbreds are the nastiest breed going, IMHO, but overall, it is abuse that makes horses uncontrollable. Sometimes, calm experience and patience will overcome that, sometimes not. It's a shame, but once truly ruined, horses can essentially be useless. BTW, Wullie, if you've been kicked, bitten, stepped on and stomped all THAT often, you are both clueless about horses, and pretty freaking slow in the reflex department......
Your statement clearly illustrates that the amount of time you've spent close to any horse with an issue is very lacking. Betting on the ponies doesn't qualify you as a horse whisper type.
You are indeed a pompous and foppish East coast douchebag.

Dude, it's this simple. Problem horses take time, and patience. You don't just charge in all big-balls and try to 'deal' with them. That's the sort of stupid shit that gets you 'kicked, stomped, bitten' etc. I've worked for two different large-animal vets, studied large animal science in college(I was a pre-vet major for a while), learned to ride(Western saddle, btw) when I was 8. Nothing 'soft' about that experience. There's horsemen, and then 'cowboys', and it ain't geographic. I know a couple of fine horsemen from Texas, and have encountered idiot cowboy types in the East.

That's what I like about you Slick. You've worked for everyone and done everything.

bullshit. You've never read any pronouncements or strong opinions here from me about(for instance) shooting traditional arms(muzzleloaders, black powder stuff), or construction work such as you do. Why? Because I have utterly no experience in either. For the same reason, I will gladly defer to Res on matters of telecommunications technology, Wullie on truck driving and Buzz on sleeping with bears. That's called keeping it real, which is what I try to do. Wullie's claim to understanding horses is a crock, because he's more focused on 'breaking' than training. And that shit can get a person hurt, real bad. Like I said, there's horsemanship and there's cowboy shit. And, in your case, there's pure bullshit, throwing in your opinion when you have no fucking clue.
