From reading this thread its obvious a few are oblivious to the stats involving breeds, dog bites, and owner conditions.
Its this sort of short sighted stupidity that allows legal bans like high capacity magazines, handgun bans, semi-auto rifles, to become standard law. Even beyond that, repeating a myth enough times it becomes fact.
i.e. we really do NOT need to own any military style rifle, they are not for hunting, only murder? sound familiar?
allowing concealed carry will only increase the chances of some child getting hurt.
government can run health care better than private greedy corporations. I can find any of those in the news on a daily basis. They gotta be the truth, right? Pitbull, the breed is dangerous, and simply can not be contained- why, I know some one who knew someone who's whole family was mauled, and I just googled pitbull and maul and found a bunch of stories.

I judge the dog Buzz. Doesn't matter if it's a pit or not. I've seen other breeds that were allegedly "friendly" who have snapped and bitten people. And sometimes it's not the owners' fault. Some dogs just aren't any good. I haven't seen many of those though. If you socialize an animal they'll respond properly when around people.

A lung shot is lethal in about 10-15 seconds on animals, cuz they run.
When I used to deer hunt with a handgun...it was my preferred shot.
You seem to equate it with a "gut shot"....very naive on yer part.

Now here's some history for ya.....
I have never seen a "provoked" attack by a Pit Bull.
I have seen the results of them attacking human beings,
folks just sitting on their porch, when out of the dark, with
no warning, no growl, no nothing...they have attacked people
on their own property....and other folks there that tried to help...
I've seen the results of a kid getting off the school bus, walking
down the sidewalk mauled severely....he was saved by a little old lady...
I've seen countless pets torn to pieces, when pit bulls have jumped the fence
or head butted the boards loose from the fence and to gain entry to kill another's
pet. I've personally had two of them jump my fence and tear apart a metal/chicken wire type
cage and kill my pet....and on another occasion jump my fence and attack my Labrador Retriever...
Every fucking one of the "responsible" owners that I have encountered, both professionally and personally,
have all said the same thing..."My dog has never harmed a soul and has never behaved like that".
All well and good, except for the victims....You oughta talk to some of them....I have. I've taken their statements,
the witnesses statements. I've gone to the emergency rooms to do all of this.....I've had to tell folks who had their
pets torn apart....that I could do nothing about it...."Call Animal Control"...Yeah, right....cuz the folks at AC tell ya,
that they can't do anything about it either...Because?.......You have to capture and contain the offending animal, before
they will come out and get it......then they wait 3 days and gas it.....

So Dawg....I prefer a lung shot and a happy meal for the Buzzards vs a Pit Bull Shit apology from the Owner.

Buzz, I have no doubt as to the truth of what you're telling me as it equates to your experience.
Perhaps, you should re-visit what I have written previously in this thread...pretty much, I said,
No problem with folks owning/having a Pit Bull....just keep it penned. Ya know, confined, under your
control. Loose Pit Bull dogs are a threat to everybody and everything from my experience, I deal with
them as such. I will continue to do so. Further, if someone carelessly, negligently or intentionally forces
their responsibilities on my family, my property, my pets or me...they have no bitch, about how I handle it.
That is, quite simply the way I see it....and do it.

I sincerely wish other folks were as responsible as you....sadly, quite a few are not....

I don't defend the owners Pud. I said that. I hate what has happened to the pit bull, and I put 100% of the blame on the owners.

Keep in mind Pud. You saw the worse of the breed being a cop. Don't you know anybody who has a pit that's not an asshole? If you knew them as I know them you'd feel different, and realize it's not the dogs fault. They really are are great dogs.

It's just that nobody I have ever known, met or encountered....
Could tell the difference....I cannot.

That list includes, dog catchers, Vet's and the people who owned/had
the dog for years.....and then one day...it just "snapped" mentally...
I wish that it was easily discernible for the sake of the dog....
All I know is this....it can happen...it has happened many times...
