Had a roommate with a pit. One of the sweetest, friendliest dogs you'd ever meet. Our neighbers each had a pit, and they were friendly, in the manner you describe them Buzz, with some caveats... They seem to very readily adapt to their master's demeanor, so if the owner does not treat them well, they will adapt that perspective to an extreme degree. I wouldn't trust one whose owner I didn't know to be a person of good character, and if you ever see one running free in a pack of other pits, GTFO out of harms way. They will follow the most most headstrong, physically dangerous one. A pack of havelina comes to mind...
