Re: Hey Ruggz
Haven't heard anything yet, but it looks like the s**t is gonna hit the fan. Excessive use of force.

Re: Hey Ruggz
Maybe nic, they are...maybe not...?
What it will "boil" down to is "I fired because everybody else was firing"....
I believe, we can all agree....that, in itself, is not a good reason....
Scared folks can do incredibly stupid things, when they don't have time to think....
However, that is no excuse for what occurred.
It is just a mess and a waste.

Re: Hey Ruggz
If they aren't capable of holding their fire until they are 100% sure that they are firing at a bad guy and/or that they actually are being attacked, then they should find another job. It's plain & simple.
If they're not willing to take the risk of waiting until then, then they're just cowards who don't deserve their badges.

Re: Hey Ruggz
No argument from me nic....
I believe from years of experience, in observing others behavior....
That folks do the damnedest things when under extreme pressure,
with no time to think and milliseconds to react...
It takes extreme self discipline, training under similar circumstances and
previous experience in the application of the same....
It's sorta like telling a draftee soldier that he is held to "Seal Team Six" standards...
It is obvious to me, that some of the folks involved in that situation, should be
"excused" from those types of duties....as they are simply not suited for it...
While I don't (at this moment, with limited facts available) believe that the officers conduct
was criminal (intentional)....I do believe that upon appearances, it was negligent as Hell.
That is the way it will probably be argued down the line.....and it will more than likely
be "settled" in a civil lawsuit. Once again, the taxpayers will be on the hook for millions,
because of poor selection, poor judgement and poor training.
Again, no argument nic....I do understand your thoughts on this subject.

Re: Hey Ruggz
Well nothing to add, I agree with everything in your post.
It's just sad because tragedies like that surely are avoidable.
