"Big Beautiful Doll" lost at duxford

Pilot error on the part of the Skyraider pilot.
After losing 6" off his wing the Skyraider pilot successfully landed.

"Big Beautiful Doll" was a total loss as it's pilot successfully bailed out after sustaining heavy tail damage.

So is it a writeoff? And also loosing 6" of wing then landing one would presume that he was in the air when he did it what did he do buzz the tower and come a wee bit to close?

There are a vast supply of skyraider airframe parts available.
I doubt it is more than a major inconvience.
