How many times that amout was spent on going into Iraq for no reason at all?
That was before Obama. You guys were bankrupt before Obama.
The fact that Obama is trying to squeeze whatever is left from you guys doesn't hide the fact that the repubes before him stole major chunks of it without you complaining all that much. Whichever way the money is being spent by the US gvt, it always ends up in the pockets of the same group of dudes in the end.

However, Nic...it's not the last two presidents....it's the last three...
Again, a very accurate observation from you....

nonsense, both could be made quite affordable. First off, raise the top end for SS taxation, which hasn't been adjusted in years. Second, restore the revenues wasted by the Bush tax cuts, which NO ONE can demonstrate did a damned thing for job creation. Third, slash defense spending by 1/2, backweighted about 6 to 10 years, so as not to shock the job market in the near term. Problem solved, and in so doing, two programs supported by over 75% of the American public(SS is like 87% support) are saved from idiots wishing to trash the little guy at the expense of the wealthy.

bingo. Changing that simple fact would be both the salvation of the nation's deficit issue, and the key to a society that most citizens would find equitable. Sure, life has winners and losers, but the system as it stands, or worse, how the GOP would make it, punishes the losers and gives all the extra breaks to the folks who have been winners to start with.nicolas10 wrote:Whichever way the money is being spent by the US gvt, it always ends up in the pockets of the same group of dudes in the end.

Why did you not make it affordable then? Why did y'all not change the other stuff?
Oh wait...you were busy spending.

um, I think you would have seen better healthcare plan, and effective deficit reduction had they been able to get it past a Senate minority that blocked everything, including most key staff appointments.

Fatman, not to my immediate knowledge...While some reparations may have been paid by others in the past? It sure didn't cover the whole kit and kaboodle....Though interesting, to me, many folks thought? We were in Iraq for the oil. As that has turned out? It is quite apparent...we got the ungreased shaft. Others got the benefit of a more stable oil market.fatman wrote:Dont the US having something written down saying that they wont go into debt for a war dont they end up getting a bit of dosh out of the country they fightnicolas10 wrote:How many times that amout was spent on going into Iraq for no reason at all?
