Of course it's not true only for the USA, but for the most part of the western world:

Damn...nearly gave me a headache...
I will admit to not thoroughly reading it..I skimmed it...
Interesting?
To me, because I don't agree..with what I thought it meant...
I'll try to give it another go...when my eyes uncross...
That google translator seems to have mucked up the meaning a bit...
Perhaps it will make more sense during the cocktail hour...

Re: Google translate this bitches
well, the original article seems to have been in English, but I wanted to give my French a workout, so I read your link.
It's sort of a mismash of ideas, some dear to the hard-core left(corporate influences and the idea of school squelching non-conformity, among others). Overall, my gut, Nic, is that most Americans, both young and older, are so absorbed in the trivia of popular culture and the bling of modern gadgetry, that they are not prone to street revolt. This can, and likely will change as we head into what ought to be a prolonged period of high unemployment(Slick's guess is for a decade of 10% +/- 2% unemployment, if we are lucky). We are starting to see, in many inner cities, a Flash Mob phenomenon which could evolve in a very ugly fashion.

ask, and ye shall receive.

had a link to the ordinance, but no way could I make it work as a link for some reason.....
Anyhow, reading the article you sent was fun. It's always nice to at least try and justify the education.
At this point in life, I can read French alright(had to reread a few passages in the article to 'get it'),
but speak it horribly, if forced to actually maintain beyond one or two sentences. Worse of all for me has always been comprehending spoken French. All my teachers were Canadian, and I sort of quickly found out that in your fair country, your accent/dialect is completely different. The cadence or something renders watching French TV programs into headache machines, half-catching some words, missing clumps of words, a mess.
Re: Google translate this bitches
I didn't ask for a link about Phila in english, I read it on an english speaking website. I was talking about the first article that I posted.

So pud, you disagree with the fact that there are widespread plans to create a whole generation of sheep?

No, nic, I don't disagree with that. The revelation is that your question was not asked 35 years ago, when it actually began. We are now, here, going into the third, arguably the fourth generation here in the U.S.nic wrote:So pud, you disagree with the fact that there are widespread plans to create a whole generation of sheep?
Our young folks in this country, know nothing of history, at least not accurately. We all know, that, no one can go back in time and change history....What no one paid any attention to? History was changed with a pencil and an eraser....Books were printed....Socialists then taught the new meaning to the young...or failed to teach history in its totality.... The majority of the history that was "changed", seems to be in the last two hundred years... Especially from 1900 to present. What many folks don't comprehend? The sole reason to change/distort history? Is to allow, the same mistakes to be made again, while misrepresenting the "new idea".
Slick and I are the same age....and of differing opinions. He knows, as well as I, what has been changed.
For a contrast of opinions? It might be interesting to you? If Slick were to weigh in with his opinion?
What may be of further interest to you, nic....I believe, Slick was educated, primarily in Virginia? While, I am from Texas, I attended school in Fairfax, Virginia from the 5th grade through the 10th grade. Arguably,
the sole cause of my "Rubeness"...
