It takes thousands...
Upon notice of changing a lightbulb the California EPA sets up a committee to determine the environmental impact due to increased energy consumption, environmental warming, etc. etc..
Cal-OSHA then must look into the hazards regarding standing upon a ladder to do so, naturally forcing the landlord to purchase safety glasses, hardhat, safety harness, etc..
The Lightbulb Changers Union, Local 314 steps in protesting the loss of work and won't let the project continue till Union Labor is used on the job...Naturally they determine it takes 11 workers at top scale.
Greenpeace and Sierra Club band together to have a thousand person sit-in to protest the ultimate increase in ambient temperatures and it causing melting of the icecaps due to global warming killing the whales.
Naturally the above forces California based NOAA to determine affects on tides, sea level height and so on, with various state marine biology units mustered to determine the effects on whales and other sea life.
PETA of course is outraged over the abuse of "Cockroach & Rat Friendly low light areas" and gains court orders to cease and desist until they can be relocated.
The Rainbow Coalition out of SanFran. protests because bright hallways are not gay friendly, in kind the ACLU and NAACP take offence at "light is better then dark", and all the usual suspects jet in to rally.
Of Course the California Orange Growers are happy because it improves their season length by 1/1,000,000,000,000 of a second and file suit against the Napa Wine makers who try to shorten it.
Always a problem, illegal immigrant workers clash with closed border groups as they try to get the job and do it for less, which naturally gets the feds involved due to NAFTA issues.
etc.etc. till finally the Governor must send in the national guard and declare martial law while petitioning the Federal Government for additional funds to deal with the unrest and disaster relief....Naturally ending up with a grant in the billions of which $37.14 makes it out to help the masses.
On and on, you name it they get involved....The hippies, bikers, tree huggers, rednecks, Vegans (as it takes a lot of burgers to feed everyone).....
.......and in the end the apartment building problem that spilled over to a city wide issue, demanding county action, requiring state intervention and federal relief....Could of all been avoided if Treetop64 just had a flashlight.
(Naturally he would of bought it at WalMart meaning a whole slew of anti-Chinese/buy american protests yet that's his problem).
Ahh California......I have a solution:
One good quake and my Nevada beachfront property will finally pay off."
