Re: Best movie gunfight.
There's no doubt that the shootout at the end of "The Wild Bunch" is Peckinpah's masterpiece.
But it loses credibility due to the seeming endless amount of ammo in the machine gun.
Other movie gunfights that came up in the discussion are:
"Scarface" - shootout in the mansion
"The Matrix" - shootout in the lobby (his #1 pick)
"Desperado" - shootout in the bar
"Heat" - shootout in the street (my #2 pick)
"The Professional" - shootout in the apartment building (my # 3 pick)
"Unforgiven" - shootout in the bar
"The Way of the Gun" - shootout in the courtyard
But it loses credibility due to the seeming endless amount of ammo in the machine gun.

Fair enough. But if that's your thing, how about the shootout at the end of "The Magnificent Seven" ?Soapy wrote:One of the reasons I like itThere's no doubt that the shootout at the end of "The Wild Bunch" is Peckinpah's masterpiece.

Classic, and copied many times at primary school by me and my mates, when Steve McQueen was the coolest guy ever.Reservoir_Dog wrote:Fair enough.
