Re: I told you so
I'd be more concerned with IT infrastructure than individual parts on planes or helos. Switches and hubs and all the other things that allow things to communicate with each other with some hard wired backdoor or over ride. I think I might have mentioned it here or on another forum about how most of our PCs are made out of parts that came from China. The case or even manufacturer of the component might say "assembled in the USA" but the actual parts mainly come from the cheapest source.
No developed country needs conventional weapons now to disable a power station or a water plant. 20 nerds in a room will do it for you, plus another few million who think they are downloading the latest episode of Seinfeld or something. What is surprising is that the West seems to have missed the point and the masses want their free stuff too. The best investment we should have made was to get the geeks in a room, and ask them "how would you break this?" and then follow it up with "how would you stop someone from breaking this and break their stuff at the same time, and blame it all on another country?".
That's why the UK is building an Aircraft carrier, to fight the last war, and cutting back on spending for the next one. We don't need an aircraft carrier, the UK is one already.
The next war will be fought by fat guys eating dougnuts and watching porn. It might have started already but the rest of us are too dumb to have noticed.
