Question: What would be the best attractions in there?
I'm planning a trip to Australia, maybe could go to the other Alps!

Re: Aussie Alpine Nat. Park
Well its gets snow for like 3 months of the year and its measured in inches not feet it is also home to the worlds oldest ski club
Also there is a bloody long walking track that is like 700km long you could give that a go, and other than ski or hike i guess you could fish stay at b&b's or just drop a swag at the side of the road its open country, and have no fear you wont have cattle grazing there any m0re thanks to the greens so you just have to contend with snakes and spiders
But one place i would recommend the great barrier reef wether it be snorkling or scuba diving that place is great or swim with the whale sharks out west

Re: Aussie Alpine Nat. Park
Swimmng with sharks sounds charming... But I guess I should consider that, as I try to have a look into the western part of A. Lot's of national parks, caves and gorges there, and empty space. East might have too much turists going around backbacking

Re: Aussie Alpine Nat. Park
Euro-birds on vacation is a good reason to go to western part... I see them enough around here, without those backbacks
A plan is forming, first the Alps, then Great Ocean Road, a race to Perth and then up north and to the very center. Should provide magnificient view of the night sky

I see you missed out on Queensland there its nice and pretty up nth townsville, cairns etc for the major centers
Re: Aussie Alpine Nat. Park
I haven't had a look on Q-land yet, but it will be part of the trip. My idea is roughly to ride around the Oz, within 3 months. It's still in early planning stage, so... lots to read and decide!

Just crossed over the border to WA. Border control lady was a funny one. "Are you carrying any fruits or honey?"
-Just my nuts.
Maybe tomorrow to Norseman, or Frasier Station. Then down south and Esperance is on the cards
