I'll bite. Hawklore, how would you, go about this..."I'll take care and teach this girl a lesson, just leave it to me... I'll have her running back to you dad in no time..." ?

Not trying to "bait" you...or debate you? Just curious....Have you ever parented or had occasion to control teen age kids?

Ever heard of something called a "gift"?
Do you not own a birthday or Christmas present after you've been given it?

There are no words in the english language to describe how utterly stupid that statement is.

That's cool Res, let's give 14 year olds the right to do anything they want. That also means banging people of legal age. Ah, not acceptable? Sorry dude, a teenager living under the roof of his/her parent has no rights.

Rugg is absolutely correct.

So....R_D, are you sayin.....beat yer kids with a bed slat? or
are ya sayin....let them do as they damn well please? or
are ya sayin....you're just guess'n?

Personally, I believe, if'n a body wants to hold his self out for "Parenting Skill"?
They oughta try raising a 15 year old "knot headed" undisciplined step son...
Guaranteed, it'll turn the hair on yer grapes..................gray.

Just say'n that's all................

Note: Rugg completely missed the point of my last post in this thread.

Productive parenting 101 from a guy who's never raised a child.
Thank God.

Interesting. And I may have a response. But I'm not sure. My universal translator is broken.
Could you try it again in english?

I'll tell you gentlemen. I raise 8 teenagers. 4 boy / 4 girls. if you wait till they reach the teenage stage before you get them under control you've already lost the battle. get them to understand and obey the rules by age 6-7 and then you've got a chance. and any parent that thinks they need to be their child's friend is an Idiot, you are their parent not their friend you CANNOT be both.

there are two major tenants in raising a family.

1. Fathers do not provoke your children to anger
2. teach your children to obey their parents

the Father in the Vid failed on both accounts,
1. his Daughter was disobedient and disrespectful to her parents
2. he compounded his problem by intentionally provoking his daughter by shooting her laptop then then posting it to embarrass her.

and children under your roof have no "right" to privacy, they should be afforded a certain degree of freedom, but if you give your children a blind trust to do what they wish to do you are a fool.

If what you say Cuda is for sale?
I'd buy it.

Through, careful and attentive listening to the vid....indicates that the disrespectful and disobedient little girl is a product of a broken marriage.....She has a Mom and a Step-Mom. So other factors are more likely present.
That now out of the way.......On to this for a concept....You can't be physically spanking a teenager, ever. It appeared to me that the Father has tried alternative ways/punishments/guidance to gain his daughters respect and obedience and it has failed....Failed spectacularly. Now what? All he did and yes it was Over the Top, was give her a graphic lesson in consequences. I'd call it tough love for a stubborn kid. Some folks just don't grow up at the same rate as others.....

Cuda, you're absolutely right....raising kids starts the day they are born. If you wait until they are a teenager to do it? You have failed them, yourself and society....

The bottom line (no pun)....That fella does have a hell of a problem...don't know if he created or raised it...but, I do admire his sense of restraint and responsibility.....Slick might even call it panache....I been a dying to use that there panache for years.... ;)

whoa, bunky! Res' disagreeing with your(agree with the view it is brain-dead stupid) that 14 year olds have 'no right to privacy'
is NOT the same as giving them the right to DO anything.
Everybody has rights, including limited privacy rights as a minor child living at home. Bottom line is that this nitwit's approach, as explained by CUDA set his chances for ongoing success as a parent to near zero.

Read it again, son. CUDA says they have no rights. He'd be correct.
