General Motors originally planned to sell 60,000 Volts.... in 2012
Only 1,626 cars were sold in the first two months of this year and will halt production of the car from March 19th to April 23rd in order to bring supply closer to current demand.
I'm thinking they're not going to make those projections :P
I'm thinking that the Volt is not selling as well as the Yugo did.

want to bet those look like smarter purchases with $5.00/gallon gas? Still, we don't have the infrastructure in place, nor the quality of batteries needed to make a large national fleet of electric vehicles practical. I'll still bet those sales pick up a bit, though, and stopping a line for a few weeks is pretty common practice.

I've never seen one in the streets. I guess it was chosen by journalists, which says it all really.

I'd love to have the buck for a CT200h though

I had a friend who owned 3 of them at the same time!
It took parts from all 3 just to keep one of them on the road!

best summation I ever heard of a Yugo was on Car Talk, the off-the-wall Public Radio show. The caller asked Ray and Tom if it would damage his Yugo to have it towed behind a larger family vehicle when moving several hundred miles away. After a thoughtful pause, Ray opined that,"a 45 degree angle on a tow bar IS the standard operating position for a Yugo"
