North Korea self destructed the missile in order to demonstrate to the world it's technological superiority in failed missile launches.

The world will now cower in fear.

A real "bitch slap" to them others whut don't possess a nuclear "deterrent"....
and have to depend on others....

Sorta like...the Canadian Air flight the other day...originated in Canada....possible bomb on board....flight was
intercepted by U.S. fighters over Canadian air space and Canadian flight escorted thru Canadian airspace by U.S. fighters, where it safely landed.....at a Canadian airport. It could be a good thing? That we have R_D's lip, backing up the U.S. :P

Old Pudfark sez: " Another fine example of the U.S. putting it's money? Where your mouth is? That would be your back pocket. No disrespect to the Aussies aboard. "

You do know that NORAD is a Joint operation with Canada and the USA. And covers all of North America as a continent? Funded jointly too so if a rogue airliner was in US airspace the Canucks could and would deal with it if their assets could vector first.

Likewise, Europe has paid back in the 80s to be an early warning system for the continental USA and Canada.

Dude, you are on the internet, get the hell out of the 1950's

Middle of the day and the Canadian assets were?
Non-functional or asleep....er um non-existent....for sure a no-show....

Yup, when it comes to NORAD....the Canadians are in the 50's....
Pretty much, that explains?
Why my uncle was a wing commander of F-102s at Goose Bay Labrador in the 60's.

Speaking of responsibilities to treaties and such, Soapy....The French have more
aircraft carriers than you do. Last count? The U.S. has 11 aircraft carriers.

Last time it was lend lease...next time it's cash money on the barrel head.
Or, y'all can continue on....face east and pray for a different outcome.

All of what I've said here is ugly fact. Them what don't face facts?
Face the consequences....just sayin

You caught the part about who can vector first? Right? Maybe? Missed it all together?
