Hey Pud.......
How can a person ever expect to live in a united nation if that persons sole purpose in life seems to be to try and create a divided nation?

Re: Hey Pud.......
It's not BS at all.
I'm not trying to imply that Pud is attempting to create a divided nation.
It's simply a general question meant to spur discussion.

Re: Hey Pud.......
The US has never been more divided.
Not that we are at risk of a civil war.
It is becoming rare to see a person that is
neutral about Obama. You either hate Communists
or love them. Obama and the Pelosiites being the Commies.
Race is a far less important issue.
Think, half of We The People really hate Obama!
Trouble is, it's only half, we need more supporters.

Constitutional Federal Republic; by design, States are sovereign, with limited, enumerated powers granted to the Federal government. Unlike Canada; is that where there is some confusion?? Our country is divided by design.

Great statement and correct.Barfly wrote:Constitutional Federal Republic; by design, States are sovereign, with limited, enumerated powers granted to the Federal government. Unlike Canada; is that where there is some confusion?? Our country is divided by design.
The question? Perhaps, should have been a statement as well? eh?

Actually, Canadian provinces have considerable powers.Barfly wrote:Constitutional Federal Republic; by design, States are sovereign, with limited, enumerated powers granted to the Federal government. Unlike Canada; is that where there is some confusion?? Our country is divided by design.
What I'm referring to by my question is the political division created by the far left and the far right.
When you have two political groups who think that their group is always right and the other group is always wrong, you create irreparable division.
And if you are part of one of those groups then are you not a contributing factor to that division? These people look to have and create a united nation... as long as the other group doesn't get to come along. They want their political party to be in power at all times. (there's a word that...)
Logic and common sense dictates that opposing political parties need to work together for the common good.
That same logic and common sense also dictates that the common good cannot be achieved if political parties adopt a position of absolutism.
There are 3 major political parties in Canada and it's not uncommon at all for 2 of them to sit down together in order to draft legislation.
Of course, with 3 major political parties minority governments are also not uncommon. But the fact remains that they can and will work together when the need arises.
Perhaps the United States could use a 3rd major political party. How interesting would that be!
If you strive for total political division, your country cannot survive politically.

Well, good for you R_D.
Not even Slick, wants to be Canadian...
Pretty much...our country has had bi-partisanship behavior...well, except for the last four years... I can see why you might prefer the "menage a trois" system you presently enjoy. Nothing wrong with it, if you like it.

Re: Hey Pud.......
It's likely a same-sex menage-a-trois... won't produce anything of value long term.
It really takes an active effort to get past the mass of rhetoric in politics, and look at actions and results. You'll find a slightly willing to compromise-to-progressive-values Repub group, vice a Demo party that won't compromise on killing the Republic, killing off the 'cult of the individual' as one of those former dictators in the U.S.S.R. stated. Maybe it was Krushchev, maybe an earlier version.
