Repubs/dems is the same thing anyway. Obama just continued what Bush had started. And Hollande is doing exactly the same in Syria that Sarkozy did in Libya... good dog.Barfly wrote:I do totally agree with you Nic that we reap what we sow, and North Africa is a perfect example of that. [quote="Barfly"No it isn't... I know we are all awash in exclusionary, forceful amounts of propaganda. It's not accurate to suggest I'm intellectually incurious about others persectives, if that's what you're getting at... or 'can't see the forest through the trees'... There is no genocide perpetrated by the Israeli's against people in the Palestinian territory. If that was the case, they would all be dead.
No middle eastern country gives a shit about the quality of life of anyone in that area, only that it is a foot in the door against the 'zionist' 'expansion'. By expansion I mean they exist at all[/quote]
I don't care if iranians really care for palestinians. The problem is some zionists use my government to further their agenda AGAINST our own interest. Our government doesn't represent french and just betrays us day in and day out, about everything.
Really I don't care who obliterates whom as long as France isn't involved in it whatseover. I don't want us to do some crazy lunatics' dirty work. I don't, for the life of me, understand how you guys go for it.

Obama and friends intervention in North Africa is not something the Bush administration would have done - Athough I agree there is little difference between our two parties....
Re: This
Even if it's true, that's exactly the point of the bipartisan politics with alternating gvts: one side will do what the other doesn't and vice versa... all following the same policy that has been decided up there.Barfly wrote:Obama and friends intervention in North Africa is not something the Bush administration would have done - Athough I agree there is little difference between our two parties....

Re: This
The difference in the direction a given leader is pushing is more important than the apparent similarities. For instance, although Bush 2 was not impressive, and Obama worse but in similar ways, they and their cohorts have radically different agendas.
Re: This
Hum I don't think so. Their agendas might seem contradictory, but in the end you'll observe that they are always serving the same goal.
Here's an overly simplistic example:
Socialists will spend so much that the country goes broke
Liberals get elected and say that since we're broke we have to cut costs and privatise hospitals, highways etc that cost money so they are run "more efficiently"
Net result we build highways with tax payer money, and once the socialists have ruined us, the liberals sell them to goldman sachs for cheap so they can profit from something that we have paid for.
Alternance serves a purpose.

well, it's certainly something Obama's previous opponent would have done, and McCain was all for arming the rebels in both situations. That would've worked out well, huh?

Slick you amaze me! You are one narcissistic turd! Oh and good job giving your lap dog a pat on the head.callmeslick wrote:yeah, I'm back, and amused as hell by the drivel level in here. Good points, Res, and a few by Nic. The rest of you have no fucking clue and just regurgitate what the right wing puppeteers wish you to.
Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.
