the troops? Went 55-45 for Obama in 2008, and likely more like 60-40 this time around.

Most data shows the vast majority supported McCain. Most, you cherry picker.callmeslick wrote:the troops? Went 55-45 for Obama in 2008, and likely more like 60-40 this time around.
If the majority of the military would vote Obama in 12, why would the Obama campaign sue the state of Ohio to try to prevent military members from voting early

It' s because they are trying to limit the vote from a largely Republican voter block. See how this works Slick?

from the American Conservative:
" — in fact, men and women serving abroad gave Obama nearly six times more than his opponent,"
and, the articles debunking Romney's claim about military vote supression in Ohio are numerous. Most call it an outright lie. The suit merely demands that ALL citizens of Ohio retain the early voting priviliges they gained since 2004. The GOP had sought to selectively curtail some people's early vote(specifically in cities....full of, GASP, black voters)

Demanding that all citizens are on the same voting timeline eliminates the early military vote, see? Accusing the GOP of doing same is an attempt to divert attention from real efforts to manipulate the vote.callmeslick wrote:Barfly wrote:Most data shows the vast majority supported McCain. Re: Getting the "story" straight....
do you get it, Barfly? (obviously not, see comment re:grey matter) The GOP, several months ago, attempted to SELECTIVELY limit early voting, but wrote in a section about remaining open for vets(residents, not absentee voters). Thus, it was the GOP who wanted to curtail access to the polls. The Obama suit merely seeks to clarify that if the ban applies to any citizen it applies to ALL citizens. As citizens, military personnel are NO DIFFERENT than any other voter. No one should get a special break.
Re: Getting the "story" straight....
So the tradition of allowing overseas military personel to vote absentee ballot early, and postage free, to ensure they can vote and get it in early enough to be counted should be eliminated? Algore tried to do that in Florida.
And WTF do you know about military service? Drop some more acid, ya old hippy.
