Quite a bit in my opinion. Two of my grandson's have dug up most of their backyard in Colorado....until, their Mom, my daughter, looked out the kitchen window...and saw only the tops of their heads At which point....in the words of the six year old,
"Mom shut us down"....

That was that....

One of the neighbors told the boys...." there's gold under my garden, you can dig there this spring...."

All of my prospecting is on creeks. Some big, and some small. All good producers.

All are marked private property. Those who have trespassed have regretted it.

Colorado does have some "strange" laws regarding water and property rights...
