We're going after WMD once again. Apparently Bachar El Assad wants to obliterate the universe.
But this time there is actual proof that the Syrians have chemical weapons... with use on rabbits & all I've heard.
Only, it's our boys in Syria, not the Syrian regime

A couple of things come to mind....
"Day late and a dollar short"
"Butt in or Butt out"
I have no interest in Syria, other than their impact on our Allies.
The only impact we should make on our Allies behalf?
Is by air. No troops on the ground.

Syria only accounts for 1/2 of 1 percent of global oil production.
No point in sacrificing any American lives if there is no oil to be gained ....... right?
But if shit happens in Iraq or Kawait ..... HOLD ON FOLKS! WE'RE SENDING EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT! SHOCK AND AWE, BABY! WE'RE GONNA KICK SOME ASS!
Next up..... Iran. I hear they have a fair bit of the black crude.
If only Syria had some oil.
Then maybe America would give a shit.

Well...some decent points there R_D....
Some not.
You of all folks here (should) know most of our oil comes from Canada.
Iraq, Kuwait, Iran and Syria...none of them are about oil, never has/have been.
A simple "google check" proves it. Your statement is old, lame and a deliberately
repeated lie. Now, if'n ya had thrown Saudi into the mix? My statement would've
been less "pointed".
Why should anybody give a shit about Syria?
Should the world expect the "Canadian Calvary" to come charging over the
sand dunes to their rescue?
Old Pudfark sez: " So Canada spends their money and lives on themselves, not
on their Military and the other "unfortunates" in the world? Then ya got the nerve?
To bitch/whine about the U.S.? Maybe, doing the same? My-My... "

Re: Here goes... Syria ops on the way:
Syria is of the utmost importance wrt the oil business.
1st in the last years they have found huge offshore gas reserves in the mediterranean, and it could mean increased tensions beteeen turkey, israel, greece, syria & lebanon. In any case Syria has suddenly got quite deep reserves, & so has Israel
2nd the EU is getting more and more dependant on Russian oil, and they west wants to set up pipelines going through Syria & Turkey to bring middle east oil & gas to Europe and reduce our dependance on Russian oil.
3d they want to attack Iran, and stirring shit in Syria may have the added benefit of bringing Iran into the mix

I see what you're saying Nic...though, I don't totally agree with it.
I agree with the part that effects/affects you and yours.
Instability in the region does potentially harm you more.
The U.S. doesn't financially benefit by becoming involved in this.
Those who are to benefit financially? Should be the ones with the greater investment.
China/Russia/India seem to be sitting on the side, ROFLAO....
Should be interesting to see?
What you Europeans are willing to commit to?
Will ya lance the boil?
Will ya watch it turn to gangrene?
Are you willing to wait for Canada?
To come charging over the hill.
I hope it turns out well.

Nothing to laugh or joke at.
We are ruining a perfectly working country and a perfectly working society to put terrorists in power just so we can get middle east oil cheaper than russian oil.
It's despicable.

Re: Here goes... Syria ops on the way:
"perfectly working"??? WTF, they have had more than half the cabinet quit in the past 5 months, have an ongoing civil war and the banking system is basically in limbo. What part of that fucked-up mess is perfectly working, Nic? Now, I would agree with anyone who suggests we shouldn't waste much effort there, unless they are somehow going to mess up international commerce, but 'perfectly working'? Hardly.
