No plaster. Just a sturdy brace. I still have to take care of myself and Buddy.
Pain is getting to me. I'm usually pretty good at handling pain, but this is pretty bad, and I can't get any relief from it. Two Percocet tablets don't even touch the pain, but sure gets me high.

I don't know your over all health condition. When I had my ankle thingy, I learned two things about managing the pain. They are:Buzz wrote:No plaster. Just a sturdy brace. I still have to take care of myself and Buddy.

1. Don't ever get behind the "pain curve". Meaning pay attention, set an alarm clock if need be...always keep the "meds" in your system...If ya screw up (I did a few times) and forget, it takes a day or so to get "caught up" and it ain't fun.
2. What it says on the bottle on how many to take and how often? Is a guide line/average for folks. It may not and it sounds pretty probable, it's not enough for you. You need more, call yer Doc and ask him. Let him know, it ain't working.
Don't do what I did? I took as many as I needed and as often as I needed them, I didn't talk to the Doc. I got away with it, as in, no problems and I did experience the much needed pain reduction. I never got rid of all the pain, I did find a way to make it endurable. As I healed up and the pain subsided, I took fewer of them. I never had a "withdrawal" problem of any kind. Still have a butt load of them...need to throw them away.
Hope this helps and your pain issue is resolved quickly...I've been there.
Re: Crap!
First off. I don't have a doctor. I used to, but he moved away a year ago. The only doctor involved in this is the one in the emergency room. The gave me a shot for pain, took x-rays, gave me a brace and prescription for 30 Percocet, and got me a ride home in the morning.
I'm pretty much on my own, and can't go anywhere. I can barely walk. Let alone drive. The doc said it wasn't quite bad enough for an operation, so i'd just have to tough it out. I tried to get a hold of the doctor for more meds, but he went out of town for two weeks.
So, here I am. I'm lucky my neighbor is taking Buddy out, or i'd be screwed.
I need to get something to loosen me up. Meds have plugged me up, and I haven't crapped since Tuesday.
Sometimes life is so fun.

Doc competency can be hit or miss, as probably everybody knows. Never had a bad ER experience, had a few outside of that that were not very informative or able to resolve issues - of course every case is different depending on the individual. At least we have to opportunity to get a second opinion... for now.
