Your little whitetails are kind of cute Pud, but you have millions of them. I think i read something like 4 million. Colorado has only 10,000 whitetails, but were more known for our mule deer. It's all I hunt, and they can go to 400lbs, but that rare. More like 250lbs would be average.

However, our elk can push 1000lbs, and they're a bitch to skin out and get off the mountain.

once again, the discussion of AR-15s is not, and shouldn't be, around HUNTING. Hunting is not a 2nd amendment right, it's a privilege, like driving a car. It is about public safety, and I'll repeat my challenge again: Find me examples where an AR-15 class weapon was both USED and NEEDED for personal protection.
Blathering on about hunting, the size of Texas deer(they are puny by all reports, sort of like most people there), hunting for elk, coyotes, rabbits or ducks is completely irrelevant.

Except in a thread specifically about hunting with an AR. Maybe you forgot what post you're in? It happens...
