Re: New Immigration Policy by Obama
as for northern examples, I believe there were releases from Berks County prison in PA, which has been providing the Feds around 5 dozen beds for several years. As for notification, I suspect that local authorities WERE notified, and that for political reasons, some are denying it. And, finally, although the stated deadline is Friday, the actual funding hasn't been there all year, so the cost savings are justified. Hell, IMHO, those people shouldn't have been taking up Federal dollars on prison housing, when the outside supervision costs 10% as much, and despite the Fox News hysteria, doesn't do a bad job of keeping track of folks awaiting deportation. Perfect, no, but adequate for folks who aren't violent criminals.

That does not answer the question.
You made excuses.
I take it you agree that the Fed's can open the jail house doors...anytime they want
and dump criminals on the public with no notice and no say about it. No wonder, HH calls you a Nazi/Communist. You are.

no, I am saying that I think that local officials WERE notified and that Fox is misleading you by suggesting otherwise.

Why would you "think"?callmeslick wrote:no, I am saying that I think that local officials WERE notified and that Fox is misleading you by suggesting otherwise.
Based upon what?
Where?
When?

You must have a very short memory Slick! Well let me remind you, DHS started only picking up and putting away illegals that they deemed dangerous and a risk to public safety! So who do you think they are releasing now?callmeslick wrote:....plus, the part Pud and Faux News leave out is that those released are ascertained not to be risks for violence or other flagrant criminality. Essentially, harmless folks being warehoused until deportation hearings. The way Pud tries to present it, they are releasing hundreds of gangsters, rapists and thieves onto the streets. Not the case, at all.
Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.

sorry, DH, but you are incorrect. They have been warehousing individuals who missed deportation hearings or were deemed possible flight risks for some time. Not only Mexicans, but Asians in large numbers as well, along with the usual range of Central American and African nationals. Old news. My county jail in PA has provided rent-a-cell accomodations to the Feds for nearly a decade. All of those are deemed low-risk for violence.

Cite/Site/Sight the source of your information Slick. You're guessing and bullshitting again. Every county jail in this country is a "rent a cell" to the Feds, it's always been that way. Nearly everyone of the folks in jail for Immigration Felonies were arrested for another "local or state" offense, felony or misdemeanor. It should be interesting when you state your source of credible source of information.....I'm waitingcallmeslick wrote:Darkhorse wrote:You must have a very short memory Slick! a long read, and no, being up for a traffic violation should not lead to incarceration.

That's an opinion piece. Worthy of the Onion.
Let's get serious now...
Really show me/us something substantial from a credible source.
The link you chose to post. Is easy to pick to pieces. Challenge me...

ICE ADMITS 200+ SERIOUS CRIMINAL ILLEGALS RELEASEDcallmeslick wrote:different situation, Nic....plus, the part Pud and Faux News leave out is that those released are ascertained not to be risks for violence or other flagrant criminality. Nic
In February, 2,228 detainees were released and placed on supervised monitoring in an attempt to frighten the American people about the upcoming ramifications of sequestration. “I am trying to live within the appropriations that Congress gives us,” Morton protested. “Our single largest appropriation is for custody operations …. My view is we need to maintain the operations of the agency; I don’t want to furlough people.” So instead of furloughing administrative employees, Morton simply directed ICE to release illegal immigrants, many of them dangerous.
While the Obama White House proclaims that these releases were not dangerous, Morton admitted that 30 percent had criminal records, and 10 percent had criminal records worse than one or two misdemeanors. That means approximately 200 relatively serious criminals were released. Eight Level-1 criminal offenders were released; four are still at large. Level-1 offenders are the most serious offenders.

Well, Slick, what's your expert comment now?
