There is no place for romantic relationships or even the opportunity for such within a combat unit. It is destructive to espirit de corp and morale. Less combat efficiency results, you kill less and die more. If you want to waste money and effort on social welfare experiments, do it where lives and national security aren't at stake.

Yes, in combat units intended for direct action, they aren't used in the Israeli army. Per experience with mixed gender units in '48.
