Re: Guns and ammo sales spark jobs boom
because over the course of 15 years, all of which we needed interpreters, they kept discharging dozens of trained Arabic interpreters per year. This, when the shortfall in that language group was estimated to be as high as 150 people, is a wholesale loss, fits my idea of a significant loss. Use your own terms, but the point is that tying a hand behind your back for something that ought to be a non-issue, like homosexuality, gender, etc, isn't a bright approach.

Obama replaced the "interpreters" with drones.
It's the new version of "DADT", which needs no interpretation.

as scary as this comment may seem, Pudfark sort of has a point.....no boots on the ground equals less need for interpretation. However, there are those pesky issues of intercepted communications in Arabic that have to be dealt with.......

Thank You for understanding my point.
It seems the current way of intercepting communications is still resolved
with GPS coordinates and a missile. Talking on a cell/satt phone in Afghaniland is
damned dicey now days. Google type "translate" may be easing the burden....somewhat.
