Try a 110 year old Hugo Junkers design with some modernisation.

A more recent and widely used incarnation was the Napier Deltic Diesel.
The Junkers Jumo series of aircraft Diesels were successful as well.
The Deltic was an improvement on that basic design and built under a Junkers lisence.
