Iraq War vet armed with rifle thwarts gas station break-in, police say
SHINGLETON, Mich. – Police say an Iraq War veteran thwarted two would-be burglars at his northern Michigan gas station by kicking one of them and ordering them away with an AR-15 rifle.
State police said Shawn Schank was inside the gas station about 4:10 a.m. Sunday in Shingleton, an Upper Peninsula community in Alger County, when two people wearing ski masks forced their way into the building and approached the cash register.
Police say Schank kicked one of them, retrieved the AR-15 from his office and ordered the burglars to leave.

That is to surrender at the slightest sign of hostility.

Dousing an attacker in the face with pepper spray is "surrendering at the slightest sign of hostility"?
Dude, I think you might want to look up the word 'surrender' in the dictionary. I don't think you know what it means.
Everybody likes a joke..especially R_D, when it's on him.
In Canada all products with a label containing the words pepper spray, mace, etc, or otherwise originally produced for use on humans are classified as a prohibited weapon. Only Peace Officers, and individuals/corporations who have special government permits may legally carry or possess pepper spray. Any similar canister with the labels reading "dog spray" and/or "bear spray" may be legally carried by anyone. The legality of using spray intended for animal deterrent on a person would be decided in court on a case-by-case basis.
This gets more amusing...
The Government of Canada classifies the AR-15 (and its variants) as a restricted firearm. For anyone wanting to lawfully own an AR-15, they must obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) valid for restricted firearms and then each acquisition of a restricted class firearm is subject to approval by the Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) of the would-be buyer's province of residence.
That's why I take ya to task R_D. You're a danger to yerself and others with yer loose opinions that resonate as facts. Or did I mean farts.
Were I to be in "my cups"...I'd still be light years ahead of you.
Now that's said, you're in good company with Slick.
All my life, I've heard..."Them that can't, teach".
You're definitely a product of that environment.
BTW...when yer bitch'n about my choice of words?
