USMC hasn't been corrupted by bureaucracy yet. At least not to the extent of other services.Barfly wrote:Good choice; note that all branches give their oath to support the Constitution. Is there any other country that makes a similar distinction? (may be, but I'm not aware of it)

Well the British army swear to the .gov the Royal marines swear to the QueenBarfly wrote:Good choice; note that all branches give their oath to support the Constitution. AFAIK their oath is to the constitution & not to the prez. So if the Prez threatens the constitution it's up to the Marines to save the day and gitmo him into oblivion.

I have it from a "trusted" source that highlighted part above, is closer to the truth.nicolas10 wrote:USMC hasn't been corrupted by bureaucracy yet. It is my opinion, that PC has infected our military. Just look at how many General Officers have been "run off" by Obama for not "looking the other way".
Nobody knows, for sure, how many Junior Officers, done the same way.
High tech weapons don't mean shit, when the folks who are "responsible and accountable" to deploy them are not of "reputable character". Especially, when you examine their Commander in Chief/Thief.
