I sign the contracts, she does the bills. Far better detail orientation from the wife. Where you(and Charles K) have it wrong is this: NO magical 'bills come due' date is inherent in March, or any one time frame. It will be an annual thing, and reviewed and tinkered with as such.

I believe you're saying that the insurance companies are going to float an "unfunded liability", the Federal Government a loan, for billions of dollars a year and collect on it one time a year... With or without interest on it? Still doesn't answer the question of "where are the subsidies coming from and being collected and what formula is being used, not to mention, they don't have a formula and it ain't been created yet. So, again, what are the possible sources of the money that is going to be used to reimburse the insurance companies?
The simple answer is "Tax Dollars". Since they ain't being collected and accounted for that purpose? Looks like billions more of accumulated debt or ObamaCare is gonna fail. That, btw, is what I been sayin and Charles too.
Old Pudfark sez: " Debt: Forced to borrow or fail.....again. That's Ok, it's the law....

Wait...after until after March...when the premiums are recalculated and reflect the non-participation of the younger crowd...?callmeslick wrote:I sign the contracts, she does the bills. The "AffordableCareAct", won't be. No one will wait for it to be an "annual thing, and reviewed and tinkered with as such."
Y'all had three years to tinker "toy" with it. Insurance companies are, by financial necessity, going to "jack" the rates up. Either, the rate increase or they will shut their doors.
Forcing a single payer solution....which has been the plan....all along. Call me "Nic", the only way to force this, destroy the insurance companies. Funny thing, is you know this. Funnier, you don't believe the results of it will apply to you and yours.

ummm, no recalculation to affect this year. I have a contract good until next January.Pudfark wrote:Wait...after until after March...when the premiums are recalculated and reflect the non-participation of the younger crowd...?callmeslick wrote:I sign the contracts, she does the bills. now, here, I won't really disagree. I do think a goodly number of folks see single payer as the end game, and are merely waiting for a slightly larger plurality to support it. Now, I used to think it would destroy the insurance companies to nationalize health insurance, but several people in the industry have since assured me that insurance companies will just move on to other lines of insurance and find profits there. None seems to sweat the loss and suggests that the industry is actually planning for it.........Forcing a single payer solution....which has been the plan....all along. Call me "Nic", the only way to force this, destroy the insurance companies.
of course, I realize that the results apply to EVERYONE. What is so bad about that?Funny thing, is you know this. Funnier, you don't believe the results of it will apply to you and yours.

What's bad about single payer...is the most likely, single tier. Meaning "one size shoe" fits all. Further meaning, are ya gonna afford "concierge care"/private out of pocket care? Or, are ya gonna settle for the new rendition of "medicaid" for all?
What's interesting to me...and you see it as well, seemingly.... The Fed Gov is gonna put the health care insurance companies out of business....and most likely, gonna bankrupt them first. Are you really ok with that? Is this course of action the "American Way"? After (both of us) watching/enduring the ObamaCare rollout....and it's disastrous implementation, how long do you want to wait, without health care insurance.....for them to experiment with a single payer plan and it's implementation?
Hell, I've got another dozen or two questions to ask....this is enough for the moment.

pretty much the premise, and how it works everywhere. Most people get access to every basic service they'll ever need, and most any critical care. Those that want less messing with making appointments, or to choose 'concierge' level care, pay for the privilige.Pudfark wrote:What's bad about single payer...is the most likely, single tier. no, I'm now convinced that won't happen....further, I explained why above. What's interesting to me...and you see it as well, seemingly.... The Fed Gov is gonna put the health care insurance companies out of business....and most likely, gonna bankrupt them first. Are you really ok with that?
yup, our nation was designed to,over time, do everything to best provide for the well-being of the citizenry, so this fits right in.Is this course of action the "American Way"?
hell, that rollout would be SO comparatively simple. You already have the Medicare infrastructure and paperwork. Simply add every single social security ID to the database, send out the cards and let the insurers(who will still be very much in business) sell the supplemental plans. Done. After (both of us) watching/enduring the ObamaCare rollout....and it's disastrous implementation, how long do you want to wait, without health care insurance.....for them to experiment with a single payer plan and it's implementation?
I can't wait to be able to show you how the above single payer plan would cost virtually every American currently paying for health insurance LESS money, by about 30%, and free employers from the uncertainty around insurance plan costs. It would also free American workers from the fear of losing insurance coverage around employment status.Hell, I've got another dozen or two questions to ask....this is enough for the moment.
