Of course you would, you're having a moment of clarity.callmeslick wrote:actually, I'd agree with that.
There are just all kinds of innacuracies in that statement. First, most states refuse to allow cops to ask for a green card. The states don't want to offend a minority. Kalifornia is like that right now. Arizona on the other hand are fed up. With the drug corridor between Tucson and Phoenix and the economic impact of these people as well as the violent crime. As for avoiding police contact, who do you know who seeks out police contact? I have friends that are cops, they come across illegals all the time. How do they know they're illegal? Cuz the citizenship test isn't given in Spanish. Illegals are working in the same industries that Americans work in. Side by side. If the cop is called to a car accident and Pedro has no proof of citizenship and (usually) no insurance doesn't it make sense to ask for proof that he's here legally? Remember this, your boy Obama put Napolitano in as Homeland Security chief and she did whatever she could to allow more illegals into Arizona when she was governor here. She tried to fight our Sheriff and he basically told her to fuck off. And 81% of the people of this state backed him. There are areas of town that are mostly hispanic (and crime ridden) and she had a fit when the Sheriff ran an operation to arrest criminals there. Yes, they were brown people. But she threw down the race card. As is typical for the lefties. If you go into Harlem to run a raid I'm pretty sure you're gonna get a few black folks...........Anyhow, one of the towns (Guadalupe) pitched a fit that the Sheriff was running the raids so he gave them notice that they'd no longer have law enforcement if they didn't want him in their town.We just don't have the resources to devote police time to seeking them out, and the cops, it would seem, just aren't going to run across the vast majority, as they are living in the shadows and generally avoiding police contact.
Then there's the little town called Aguila that my g/f's mom lives outside of. It's northwest of Wickenburg which is a tourist mining town. Aguila is so small there isn't a cop shop there. It's patrolled by the Sheriff. In Aguila proper 99% of the crime is committed by illegals. The Sheriff can only put one unit there a couple times a week. My g/f's mom lives in an air park several miles away. It's bitchin', every house has a hangar and her hangar holds a Cessna, a Citabria and an ultralight that her husband built. The deputy Sheriff's told the people out there to buy guns and use them. Just call the coroner and not to move the body. Aguila didn't use to be like that as little as 15 years ago. The only store worth going into is owned by a Korean and (god bless him) he's armed. And he's already shot two illegals who thought that the asian guy was an easy mark. The cops filed "no bill" on both shootings. Thank god this state isn't commie like the one you live in. People are still allowed to protect themselves and this state isn't so PC that the voters are afraid to "offend" the mexican population. In fact, most chicanos I know dislike the illegals being here. Their parents (or grandparents) came here legally and they have the pride that most of the rest of us have that our relatives did it the right way and became Americans. Illegals don't want to be part of this country. They don't want to assimilate. They want to have their own neighborhoods where everyone speaks spanish. We've seen lots of that in Los Angeles where there's a Chinatown, a Koreatown, etc and even the cops say at night those places are much more dangerous than even the East side is.
Even with all that I say let them come. Let them green card, then apply for citizenship. That's how you weed out the worst of the bunch. Only those that want to prosper and to become something will put up with the bureaucracy. Just like the rest of us Americans have to put up with.
