Affordable Care
CA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER ADMITS 'AFFORDABLE CARE' COSTS 55% MORE
As someone who saw his monthly health insurance premium double from $780 in 2013 to $1,460 this year, I was interested to see how long it would take for California’s Democrat leaders to fess up that there is nothing affordable about their version of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
Facing political shock and awe as ten million working Californians are soon to get notices of big insurance premium increases for next year, Democrat Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones admitted July 29th that rates for individuals that enrolled in Covered California jumped by an average of 55% last year.
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-i ... story.html
After two years of swearing that Covered California would save money for working state residents, Insurance Commissioner Jones in a news conference said, “The rate increase from 2013 to 2014, on average, was significantly higher than rate increases in the past.” He eventually got around to admitting that "significantly higher" meant average healthcare insurance premium increases of 22% to 88%.
Jones also admitted for the first time that Covered California health insurance premium increases were the most punishing for young people in Los Angeles County age 25. The Commissioner stated rates jumped for the middle-of-road “silver plan” coverage by 52% for the young versus 38% more for the same plan for someone age 55.
The biggest contributor to this cost increase appears to be those paying for health insurance to subsidize the 1.5 million increase in the state’s Medi-Cal enrollment to 8.6 million or 22% of the entire population of the State of California.
The exploding costs of Covered California and other “affordable” regulations help explain why to do business in the nation for the last three years running. This is reflected in the grim detail that California’s unemployment rate for the last three years has been at least 50% higher than the unemployment rate in neighboring Mexico.

Hey Slick...whatever happened to that $2500 we were supposed to "save" every year?

Re: Affordable Care
once again, as you seem to forget, conveniently. Insurance premiums for folks under 35 were SUPPOSED to go up. Everyone stated it at the outset. Frankly, 55% isn't too bad.

Re: Affordable Care
utterly NOTHING there that was not in the whole rollout. Rates for young people could double(that's a 100% increase, to make it easy for you), rates for the rest would stay the same, except the older folks couldn't get bumped for pre-existing conditions. It's really pretty simple, in principle.....oh, I forgot, I'm trying to communicate to a person without principles, or honor, or integrity. Poseur.

I like the fact...that it's so obvious....you have no facts...so, you name call...like a small child on the playground.

I'd talk about subsidies...but, you'd have another mental breakdown/brakedown....

So, I'll just toss this "bone" out to ya? What happened to the 2500 dollars most folks were gonna "save"?

Re: Affordable Care
what part of your anatomy did you pull "the 2500 most people were supposed to save"?? Who ever claimed that. The ONLY claims were this:
1.people who couldn't get insurance before now could
2. insurance for folks over 35 would be affordable
3. there would be caps on how much rates could rise, annually
all three have happened. Why are you whining, again?

Here's yer 2500 thingy:
Latest Obamacare Challenge for Dems: Where's My $2,500 Savings?
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/promis ... z399RrN0Kt
1. How many have ObamaCare now? Of all them whut had nuthin? How many of them are breaking the law?
2. Define affordable? My premiums have arguably doubled in the last two years. Now paying more than $1200.00 a month and that's with my pension plan paying their part.
3. 55% is not a cap...it's a butt hosing, anally. Not annually.
See if'n ya can refute my facts...without whining or name calling?
Or, send in R_D to disrupt the thread?

Re: Affordable Care
making up numbers and facts don't make you right, Pud. Epic Fail, as always, for your 'debate' attempt. You have nothing.

No go on yer part Slick....you've presented opinions only here.
I've presented facts.
Matter of fact, you agreed with some of them. The facts I presented came from others and their verifiable sources. I've yet to see you link yer opinions, in the same way. Why haven't you? You can't.

Re: Affordable Care
I've stated the facts about the law. You present a mystery $2500 savings that NO ONE ever heard about, except Breitbart. You express shock when young person's policies in California(worst case you can dig up?) rose less than half of what was suggested at the outset. You present ZERO evidence that in any way overcomes the fact that 6 million or MORE of your fellow citizens have health insurance who did not in 2013. Epic Fail, as I described.
