Your Boss is coming
Your Boss is coming
What can I say...well I am a bit peeved.
The Prez is coming to town for the NATO summit and they have slapped a great big RAT (Restricted Airspace) that extends to cover the nice little farmstrip I fly out of.
so Im grounded for 3 days because some blokes want a chin - wag, havn't they heard of video conferencing?
Oh well I expect to see many monkeys with dark shades looking daft cos its allways raining here........I'll come back and report in if anything exciting happens (do you think I should point and laff, or is that asking for trouble?
(A new one I spotted today was anti tamper tapes over the traffic light housings, along what I assume will be their route from airport to meeting, never seen that before, usually just have them on drain covers and such)

Re: Your Boss is coming
and this was a surprise to you, why, Crusty? I mean to say, they schedule these summits well in advance. You had to know it was coming, and I'm more than a little surprised you didn't know what restrictions would be in place.
Re: Your Boss is coming
Surprised?, nope....peeved, yep, the farm is just inside the restriction, If they made it just a little bit smaller, never mind its only 3 days.
Re: Your Boss is coming
Oh btw, last summer I caught a tiny fish (by hand I am no angler) and put it in my pond, I have no idea what it is, but its about 2 inches long now and actually looks like a proper fish of some sort, when I get a shot ill post it and maybe you can identify it, I named it Roly after my father who had passed away the day before.
I know you are a bit of a Fish guy

Nice looking plane. Like the idea of the oleo gear if yer flying off a grass field. That Rotax engine has a good rep and good fuel economy. I used to putt along at 115 mph with a 7.5 gallon an hour fuel burn. Though, I could land nearly anywhere. Your way seems much more affordable, especially if'n ya can burn car gas. I had an STC for mine to burn autogas....though, not with ethanol in it. Enjoy yer pursuit.Crusty wrote:Whatever I can get my grubby paws on, but currently sharing an Alpi Pioneer 300 Hawk.

16-18LPH mostly, strip is 500 metres, rarely need it all unless its calm.
Its great fun, very maneuverable, fast enough to go places and is on what we call a permit to fly as opposed to full CAA certificate, this means owner maintenance is allowed and non TSO gear can be fitted, which together with the fuel economy of the 912S, makes flying possible for me.
I think its a bit like your experimental class
Come to think of it, didnt aviation have something to do with the reason this place first existed?...I dunno seems like a very looooooooooong time ago
Slick, my pond is only about 6 foot across and is crystal clear (uv light in the filter), but that damn tiddler is evading my best attempts ....but he/she seems to be having a growth spurt, so I am sure will become an easier target by end of summer
