this Sunday I turn 59, and the wife and I are off to Virginia(sans laptop or other interweb devices)for 6 days of seafood, sunsets, surfcasting, and general R and R
(it would be S and M if Klaws and the wife were to drop by, I suppose). Anyhow, I am going to put in early football picks on the NFL pool, but have no clue who's even playing in Aussie-land next week. Thus, I request that I be given the same picks as Chipz for the week. Don't let me down, kiddo, Fatman is catching up.
One other aside--I got to thinking about the fact that one could do this, and wondered what fun it would be some season to pick the ENTIRE NFL SEASON up to the playoffs IN ADVANCE of the first game. The outcome could be a hoot!

Re: my quandry
Chipz and I have been running an NFL pick 'em pool for about 10 years now and over that time I've noticed that a correct pick rate around 65% - 67% over the season will usually put you in the money.callmeslick wrote:One other aside--I got to thinking about the fact that one could do this, and wondered what fun it would be some season to pick the ENTIRE NFL SEASON up to the playoffs IN ADVANCE of the first game. A couple years ago we had a guy who made all his picks ahead of time for the first 8 weeks. Going into week 9 he was in 5th place. The pool had 24 people in it.
So I guess doing it for an entire season could prove rather interesting.
I should set up a "fake" player in the CWoS pool and give that a go. Just for the shits and giggles of it.
There's only been one game so far.
